This is my first post here & in a forum in general so patience please.

I joined BF strictly for the ESSE part, (been reading for 2 weeks) I'm sure I'll get to the rest of the site later....maybe.

Little about me real quick. Always loved the outdoors but had little access when I was younger. Recently I've become much more focused on learning as much about survival & the outdoors which of course made me research top quality field knives.

My first buy was 3 weeks ago was a Becker BK2(before I knew about the RC5)

Anyway, bought a RC4 last week, the day I got it, I ordered the H.E.S.T, got it today & ordered a stinkin RC3 MIL & I/m currently building a go bag. Wow, I got it bad.

I don/t make a ton of $ and I fear I'm gonna burn through my paychecks & some savings quick but you only live once & this is my new obsession.

Sorry for the long post, I'm just excited to have found ESEE & this forum.

I just got my first ESEE knife last month and I've had to use all the self control I can muster not to buy more of them before I've even put my HEST to any serious use. And now I find out about the military discounts... I feel like my paychecks are going to start disappearing too. I'd advise you not to look at the rest of the forums, I have and my wish list is growing out of control now.

DVZ welcome to the forums, you're right there is a vast amount of information on this site. Don't be shy explore the rest of the site you can learn a lot..

Hey no worries the BK2 is an awesome knife (puts on flamesuit), I intend to buy that over the ESEE 5 myself so no worries.. Besides their warranty is basically the same with the exception of (you cant cut it in half with a torch)..

Now get out and use them things..

Happy Trails..

Welcome DVZ. And don't worry too much about burning through your paychecks or hurting your wallet. What fun is it having money just sitting there? :D

But you know... as long as you still have beer money it's ALL good.

welcome! no worries about the bk2 - i sold off my rc-5 in favor of it. like marineair said, stop reading the forum now before you read about the junglas! uh...oh, nevermind. it's too late! you have to get it next.

Hi DVZ

Welcome to the forum. It looks like this happened to a bunch of people here. Don't worry, you will buy more ESEE knifes before long!

You have the virus.

I sure spend more time looking at and talking about knives than I do using 'em.

I started collecting about a year ago and now I've got two fallknivens, 2 bark rivers, and Recon Scout and my latest acquisition, a Swamp Rat Chopweiler!

I used to think, man $80 is a LOT to spend on a knife, now I think Pfft! $80? Must be crap steel with a bad heat treat. Six months ago I didn't know zip about any of that stuff!

The dollars can add up quick, but like I learned with most things patience is a virtue. Some things you just have to have RIGHT NOW, but if its a big ticket item and you're willing to wait, you can sometimes get a deal on the used market. I check the forums extremely often looking for deals. Of course, that leads to the that's-such-a-good-deal-I-can't-pass-it-up syndrome on things you didn't even really want!

Welcome aboard!

That addiction you speak of? never mind, it will not go away anytime soon.

Just be one with it and enjoy. :D
