I have to admit ... I have been increasingly intrigued by Alan's rattlesnake motif frame locks. He recently finished one with an opening hole instead of a thumb stud and I immediately knew this was the one I had been waiting for! Alan does some fantastic work at very reasonable prices. This is my third piece from him and I anticipate many more. Oh yes .... some pics!!

I really love the anodizing on the sculpted titanium. I wish I could accurately capture the exact colors ..... but the beauty of this knife is that it changes from blues to coppers depending on the light and the viewing angle! Sweet!

Beautiful Dennis - I can see why you added that to your collection. Thanks for sharing the pics

Hey you re the one who got my knife!!! I wanted this badboy!! JK! No but really it is a beauty!! I have an Alan Davis collection and will be requesting one like this one to add to it someday! I love how he used the opening hole instead of a thumbstud! It totally lets your eyes focus on the beautiful damascus and frame!! I think this might be Alans finest folder to date! Awesome score!

Thanks Bob. I was going to use the ceramics and strops I got from you to refine the edge a little, but Alan did such a fantastic job on this one .... decide to put that off for a while. Do, however, plan to put them to use real soon!

Guilty as charged! You know, I've told Alan that I really want him to make a special knife for me. My problem is that I don't have a creative bone in my body. You could ask me something simple .... like what two colors go well together .... and I would be hard-pressed to give you an answer. However ..... if I saw two colors that complemented each other nicely .... I would recognize it immediately. That's the way it was with this knife. Saw it and immediately knew it was something I wanted. Like you, the opening hole and the slightly wider blade (to accommodate it) caught my eye right away. The colors and the Damascus pattern made the package complete. With this one, the real beauty is in the lighting. What you see in the pics I posted is how it looks under 5500K photo lighting. It looks slightly different depending on the type of light and even the direction of the light. Makes it really nice.

Anyway, thanks all.
