Sold my last deer antler bowie and a a result got a request for another knife with a 'as is' antler handle. Different guard design from the bowie but the specs ended up just about the same.
Total length: 10"
Blade length (guard to tip) : 5 1/2"
Width at widest: 1 1/2"
Recycled saw mill blade for the blade, medium carbon stock steel for the guard, both bleach/gun blue treated for more texture
Handle is deer antler, with African blackwood, mahogany and bocote
Really enjoying doing hidden tang knives with guards, but I've been eyeing it so getting a file guard is top of the list to get if I want to do more I think. It just too time consuming and tricky to do without, but so far I've had good luck with two.
