I love shell material...this is Joe Pardues ocean dream in mosaic damascus bolsters with basket weave damascus blade with abalone..

I fooled around with cropping on this shot...what do you think??

The only things I would say about your pictures:
The first one: Not enough water!

The second one: Watch the light reflecting off the blade. it is amazing what one can do with cardboard and white sheets to control light.
