Joe,
I haven't been on the forums much lately, but am trying to rectify that...
And upon my coming back, I've been seeing a lot of this Samuel guys work... And am truly enamored with it! I haven't seen his stuff in person, but I can only believe that these creations are as good as they look on the internet.
Part of what got me started collecting years ago was when I was first exposed to using clay during the heat treat - besides traditional Japanese stuff, it was Nick Wheeler whom I met out here in Seattle who had some knives w/Hamons on them... I was hooked.
And now seeing Sam's work, well I am awed!
And since they are on, as Win said, sculptures, well, I'll admit I have used the pic of the one he made you as my tablet's background (due to the orientation of the pic and the lighting!)
I would really be interested in handling one of his blades - those sculpted handles look like they are truly inspired ergonomical masterpieces! And while I'm not usually attracted to sub-hilts... This one just ROCKS!!!
Sounds like he's going to have an excellent show at Blade!
