So I got this old double bit the other day thinking it didn't have a makers mark but when cleaning it up there is a worn makers mark. Here's the best pics I can get of it

The letter to the left of "town" looks like an "S" which makes me think it's Lewistown, PA USA. I can't make out much on the top part of the mark.

I think the Mann axes were made there but I might be wrong on that. The head overall looks like it originally had red paint on it as well.

Well any guesses?

Mann edge tool company, Lewistown PA is my guess. I see a TOOL CO. at any rate.

Thanks cooper, I think you're spot on. That definitely looks like Edge Tool on the top so that would go with the Mann mark for sure.

It's a cruiser but it's got to be 3 pounds or so. It's a good size one for sure.

What are the weight and length limits for a cruiser. This one is a little shorter than my 3 1/2lb Plumb double but weight wise they feel pretty close.
