Hi everyone,

I've not really been into axes and all that, while I have been using them for years. I was just oblivious about brands and all that.
I've read a bit about axes and all on this subforum and I was pretty intrigued, so I went looking through the stuff we have at home.
Most of them seem to be brandless, apart from the largest axe we have at the house. It's the axe that belonged to my grandfather on my dad's side of the family and it's now my dad's axe. We both still use it to split wood for the fireplace. My dad still remembers his dad buying it when he was a kid, so it probably dates back to the early sixties, maybe a little earlier.
I really wanted to know what kind of brand it was, since I saw the same logo on an axe in another thread. I contacted the poster, but it was a picture from google that he used to illustrate his point in that thread, so that was a dead end.

Any information is therefore very welcome!

Kind regards,

Jerry

I share my sources and methods, ideally "helping you to help yourself". ;)

Ha, thanks for sharing once again. I am curious though, how ddid you know or see that it was a German axe?

@Bearhunter, thanks for the compliment. It has seen a lot of use, and probably will see a lot more of it in the future.

Lucky guess? I didn't really know. Your location, the look of the axe with that type of trademark stamp, and all those German manufacturers, it seemed more likely to be German than any other guess I had. But if it wasn't on that list, then I would be "stumped".

Mostly experience you've gathered over the course of years, then. Kudos to you sir! Anyway, thanks again for getting me on the right track!
