America's Most wanted just did a re-enactment of an attempted murder/robbery where a mexican whipped out a bali (basic horizontal I think) and slashed a womans throat. No where in the woman's (who survived) story did she even mention what kind of knife he used. Things like this are why bali's have such a bad rap.

Just because it wasn't mentioned on the air, doesn't mean that she didn't say that and it was later cut for time allowances or that he didn't use one in the first place. I'm not saying you are wrong, I am saying that we may not know all of the facts.

It is my opinion that the type of knife did not have to be stated. The fact that they showed it at all was all it took. The media has made it so that the very sight of such a knife automatically pronounces it as such to be on the illegal side.

"Catch you on the flip side"!

Now trust me, I dont want the bali to be further seen as an evil weapon, but if they werent to use a bali, then what?

if they were to whip out a folder, the folder fans have to worry about that being painted as evil. if they were to use an OTF, the OTF's would be seen moreso as evil. same applies to any knife. if you cant use one thing, you have to use another. I mean, you cant really win. the only way you can really balance things out is to have heroes and good guys using them.

I think I am to start making balisong surgical knives that doctores might be shown operating a patient using that in a hospital that save lives perhps, then balisong might have a good public image Something like that. (lol) how about asking sylvester stallon to use balisong instead rather than other type of knives for some american heroic act. (lol)

Sly did pose with a bali on Imada's Balisong Manual ..

just to share.

Also show wedding cake slice ceremony using xtra large bali (10 " blade) and have classes teaching the flip to the groom .. or the bride for better effect
