I have so many Bucks with stag handles I had become a little jaded and wasn't much interested in aquiring any more until this one was listed for sale by a forum member. It's one of several various patterns that Buck added to their catalog in 1987 and continued them through 1994. They used Sambar as the handle material and that alone makes them worth getting in my opinion.

I have the stock sheath for it, but I think I prefer it in this one.

That one looks really nice! I love the texture of the stag! Nice pics BTW! ;)

Thanks Jim. It's nice but I wish the stag looked like the one they show in the catalog picture! I'm sure they use the very best for the catalog shots though.

I don't know Dave, the 102 in the catalog is lacking a little to me :D

That 119 looks great! I didnt expect that stag from the sale thread pics! (not that there was anything wrong with them) ;)

Plumber, I've seen those before in the catalog and at shows . They are handsome --yours too ! Thanks for the photos . DM

I think its a great specimen Plum, good bark and evenly distributed. Knice:thumbup:

I like his knife, I like the knives pictured in catalog, but the quality of his photos, mainly learned on his own, still makes me feel a little like a proud teacher, like the piano teacher at a concert hearing the student play with ability beyond their own hands.

P.S. He does love a good bright red.....

:D Thanks professor! I still haven't taken your advice and started using a tripod though. It's just too much trouble putting the camera on and off of it.

I do like the red! I tried other color backgrounds but always come back to that one. It just seems to make the knives jump out at you. Besides, it's kinda become my trademark. ;)
