Years ago I had a few beckers, some users, a couple bk7's and a brute,,, came upon some hard times and forced to get rid of them...
Thankfully, years later, my family is better off and back to Beckerworld I go...First step was looking for my old blades,, but alas could only find one my best friend had but she's a good one,,, a Camillus BK7 Desert,, blade has never been used, but some nicks in the grivory from being banged around in his gun safe....
Here's pics,,, I have made some more purchases over the last week and am eagerly awaiting some family company for my severely missed desert model...
Here's a pic of her coming home today, more pics of others to follow!

Nice knife man, I do love the look oh the tan grivory on those desert models!

Sweet! I'm also glad you got your knife back. I wish to heck I could remember who I sold my Brute to.

The scales are ok,,, it's just a coating over the black handles it appears, as mine have begun to chip...
I have two more bk7's coming (one camilllus and one kabar) and a bk9 kabar.. so the family is growing...
and.. in an effort to get another (and yes I do have many other knives) I put up a near new sog topo meridian in the trades to see if anyone wanted to trade a becker for it,,, my disease is progressing at a geometric rate!!

That desert looks super., would love to see them do that again. Maybe try a duracoat.... Hmmm

Those scales look awesome, I wish Ka-Bar would put out a bk7 Desert, I would buy one.

the desert variants of the Camillus models, as far as i can tell is just ... paint. the handles in particular, that stuff wears right off to show black underneath. course, the micarta is perfect for that use.

easy enough to do at home. clean the blade. paint it a perfect OD, or tan. done.

if KaBar thought they'd sell, 1000 or 5000, they'd do it, but i'm guessing they'd sell like 100 over the course of a year or two.

paint :)

or go all wacky and use a premium coating solution.

use the paint luke

You are correct sir, it is some type of paint, my handles are chipping showing black underneath...

Orrr... We could all duracoat them and form a deserthead association...
genius happens when the caffeine in my system wears off. :D

Oh the sickness I do have,,, I have 5 beckers now,,, and want to collect more,,, some for users, some for lookin good!! hahaha

Ok, my becker family today increased in size to 3 members,,, and a forth by the end of the week!!
Seen here are my Camillus BK7 Desert, as well as my Kabar BK7 and BK9!! Thusfar they are all getting along!!

Those deserts are cool but I'd flip my lid for something in a uniform coyote brown. I'm seriously pretty close to investigating cerakoting costs.
