Another "Beware?" Or What the Heck?

I'm betting no. It looks similar to the 500, but for the blade shape, rocker pin and lanyard hole. I'm waiting to hear back from the seller about it.

I have been informed that the knife may not a buck but the sheath is. The ad has been revised"
 
Explorer imported those in the 80's IIRC, they were in the Atlanta Cutlery catalog back then.
 
Might even be a fairly decent old knife, but opening bid is too high, as is his shipping.

I told him that by listing it as a Buck he was on his way to a neg (which would kill him, since he only has one feedback so far).

He did respond quickly and correctly and seemed happy and grateful that we had contacted him.

There are quite a few people on e-Bay who are not crooks......many simply lack knowledge and experience.

BTW, I'm going to watch this seller as he's new and he seems to be getting rid of some old knives and is clearly no knife expert.

Who knows, he may come up with something interesting.
 
I've lost track of the number of large folding hunters that Ebay sellers label "a Buck knife", that are not an actual Buck. :)
 
It has the Buck-Strider logo on the blade, but in the wrong spot... Of course the thumbstuds are wrong, as is the lack of an opening in the blade... And I won't even start on the blade-shape, handle, colour...

Google of K829L yields nothing and my interest is almost totally in traditional knives, so I'm more clueless than usual on this one.

My guess is cheap China with no Buck connection. The guy sells a lot of cheap knives.
 
At least he changed the listing, but $25? And $10 for shipping. Thought ebay was supposed to stop the over-charging.:( Thank goodness for the $4.95 Flat Rate boxes, I hardly use anything else now.
 
He's new and probably doesn't realize that his high shipping will turn off a lot of potential customers.

Yes, his starting bid is high, too.......I mentioned that before, but I didn't mention it to him because I'd already given him a lot of advice.

At least maybe we saved him from getting a neg.
