For my first trick... Stripping the coating from my BK2!

To start off I'm going to simply strip the coating and force a patina.

Now we set it in an oil bath for the night just to make certain there isn't any rust.

WASH YOUR BLADE (I used hot, soapy water, followed by a thorough dry and a wipe down with rubbing alcohol) and then set it in apple cider vinegar.

After a while (I didn't really time it) I took the blade out and put it under some cold tap water to stop the oxidation process. Then, I rubbed it down with some no-scratch scotchbrite to get rid of the film that had formed. Another wipe down with some rubbing alcohol and then dunk it straight back into the vinegar. I'll repeat this process throughout the day until the blade is dark, and then I will flip it around and do the handle.
