Hi I'm mostly new here. I got the BK2 as a bday present to myself last year and while I've enjoyed this knife I've found I turn to the bk11 for lots of the camp tasks. I also have issues with the sheath so I went looking for sheath mods and found this one by The Warrior http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/845352-BK2-Sheath-Mod-Extremely-Photo-Heavy

So I'd like to thank DerekH & TheWarrior for inspiring this idea and Dexwithers for donating the stock BK11/14 sheath. My choices are based on what I always seem to want/need on me while camping/backpacking/hiking

I tried a few different mounting options for the two becker sheaths from wrapping with paracord, masterlink chain spacers and the washers. I finally settled on rubber wire gromets.

Here it is before I realized I'd still need some sort of leg strap

I found REI had 1" webbing straps but decided to cheap out for now and use and s biner and paracord with an overhand knot

I'll clean up the overhand knot but I took it out on a short walk in the woods and it works great

I have a bunch of brush to clear so I walked into the thicket and didn't get hung up

Thanks for looking and thanks for the inspiration

Sorry if I missed it, but how did you mount the Fenix?

Also, couldn't tell from the pictures if you had already done this, but if you want to add a fire source to this rig, I carry a mini-Bic in one of the side pockets of that Leatherman sheath and my Wave and it fits in very nicely.

Nicely done, and you are most definitely welcome.

Very nicely done and resourceful, too. What is the loop material for you Fenix? Tape covered radiator hose or something similar?

Nice work. I'll bet it's heavy too. I think mine weighed 2 1/4lbs, and with the Leatherman, I'll bet it's up there. I never really noticed the weight while I had it strapped on though.

The top mount for the light is a tiny metal wire holder I spread open and shaped to get the pocket clip to mount to. The bottom is a 1" heater hose bracket that is half rubber and metal and I didn't like the look of it so I covered it with 2 3" strips of black gorilla tape so now I've got bandaids or tiny repair. I've got the single pocket pouch on now and will most likely change to the dual pouch like my edc and add the bit kit, a whistle, fire steel and a bullet space pen. The mini bic is in the side pocket now so I don't fight the sheath getting the wave in and out. ;-)

I didn't weigh it but yea it's heavy and that's why I didn't think I'd need to strap it at first but I wasn't bothered on the short walk i did yesterday and I kept it on for a few hours in the house and it was fine. The wife was concerned I was making this my edc I told her yes twice to have some fun. :-)

Im also thinking of sewing the strap like you did and maybe adding that metal but figured I'd start with sewing the stock strap

Wow thanks man! Thanks for making such great knives :-) If this side job I'm doing goes as planned I'll have enough to get myself the next two on my list the BK9 and the 17 and if it goes really well the 16 too or maybe the 15 & 5 to get a trailing point blade shape eventually I'll have all 5 so you've got more business coming from me :-)

Your welcome MadIndian. Glad you could put it to good use.

The sheath mods look awesome! Great job man.
