I was having a conversation with some fellows, and someone brought up the old "Beard of Knowledge" and "Most Interesting Man" nicknames that got attached to me a while back. I told him I was just a grasshopper compared to 12345678910 - AKA, "The Count". Here is a thread I posted 10 years ago about Sam. I don't know if anyone knows much more about him today than back then. He is still around on BF and still a registered user.

Thanks for digging that Up Stacy, so funny I am laughing as I type. LOL.

Some things need to remain in the past.
One of my old phrases when explaining something technical used to be, "I'll say it in words so simple even a Blacksmith can understand it." I stopped that after a group of torch bearing blacksmiths assembled outside my home. I should have said West Virginia Blacksmiths. It would have really made those guys mad, but they wouldn't have found my house. Just kidding WV folks. ;)

As far as old threads go it is really a shame that most photos are gone. Some were very useful. Others may be the only photographic proof that some people really existed. I remember one thread about Ashokan where Greg used to photograph the entire weekend and post them here daily. One time he posted, "Somehow Stacy and I spent the entire weekend here without ever bumping into each other for a photo of him. I don't know how this can happen.
Hios photos were great and offered shots of some of ten greats and their teaching.

As I find old threads of humor or good teaching, I'll repost them from time to time.
