I'm debating on picking up one of the OD green CPM-154CM version. It seems the Blur is the only knife Kershaw has used the steel in. I'm wondering how everyone is liking it and how its held up ? Feel free to throw in any pictures you may have.

There is also a burnt orange CPM-154 Blur out there, it is a limited run from what I understand. It's a great knife, although mine is a safe queen at the moment. That could change at the drop of a hat though.

I'm not a big AO fan, but I bought a Blur with the ZDP-189 composite blade. It's a very good knife. I asked around here a bit and people using them "hard" (not "testing" them "hard") and happy with how they were holding up. So...I'd do it. I have been thinking about picking up the orange CM-154 myself.

I'd be on it in a heartbeat myself if it didn't have that cursed recurve. :(

I can vouch for the normal blur being a damn good design otherwise, though. I use the tanto version, so I can't comment on the CPM154 blade steel.

I owned a blur and sold it. If I ran Kershaw (heaven forbid), I'd put bigger g-10 inserts in that handle (lightening it a bit), a flipper and standard, round, accessible thumbstuds. Full belly with S30V & CPM 154 blade steel. What a beauty it would be!

Ive got a zdp edged blur and use it HARD!!..cuts through fibreglass over runs with a bit of pressure..a cupla licks on the on the strop...shaving sharp....great knife

Oh great another knife to add to the list :D. I don't recall ever seeing one, look like I might have to do some hunting to find one.

The Spec Bump only had 154CPM on the first ones to come out and then switched over to S30V. I don't know the numbers produced, but you will probably have to look around to find one. :)

The Blurs are my favourite models, my newest were a gray and a desert/black one from evilbay.
Absolutely impressive design (K.O. rules! ;)), I like the AO too.

I hope there will be one day a CPM-D2, Elmax, M390 and Carpenter XHP steel composite version, too. :)

My Blur was the first real knife I bought years ago...Now dozens of knives later, the thing has still held up. I have never even cleaned it ( due to the fear that i will mess up the AO) but it still works great. Although a little blade play.

One of my favorite things about it are the thumb studs, although rough, I think they are quite ergonomic. Especially with the AO, your thumb doesn't need to travel very far when opening. I find that my thumb hooks right in there and flips it right open, similar the the lochsa thumb studs.

One of my favorite things about the Blur is that if you don't want to freak people out with the AO, you can cushion the blade spine with a finger when it opens and open it as if it were a non-AO. Kershaw doesn't get enough respect, IMO.

FYI, the studs are the best I have ever encountered once you knock off the sharp spots with a diamond stone like I did. The thumb just gets a good purchase, very comfy. Mine came without torsion bar and it's still lightning-fast to open.

i have to break down a couple knives today for cleaning/sharpening and im gonna try removing the torsion bar from my blur too thanks for the idea!
and i agree about the studs.

I really like the Blurs. Good solid knives.

They're like Skittles. They come in all colors. One day I'll dig them all out and take a group photo!

FYI, they do have a sufficient ball-detent that will keep the knife closed even with the torsion bar removed.
