ok i know the dates of when the 13c26 was used over the 440A in alot of knives including the mini mojito. I recieved a mini mojito as a warranty replacement knife from kershaw last year but was told by a woman on the phone that it was indeed a sandvik knife but my blade is marked JAN07 so that would infact make it 440A and not sandvik like i was told right? doesnt matter really as im not experienced with steel enough to tell the difference. i am a little worried about some brown specs developing on the blade though.

August 07 was, according to Thomas, the Kershaw factory change over date on the Mojo/Mojito for 440A to 13C26. There still seems to be a great supply of the 440A's in the distribution pipeline.

If it's indeed 440A, it should be a little more rust resistant that the 13C26. Give it a light scrub with a scotchbrite, and then wipe it down with some gun oil/Mil Tec, whatever your choice is.

thanks ill try that. i dont want to send it back. i love that little thing. im sure i just got something on the blade thats being stubborn.

This may sound stupid, but a while back when Sandy went to the beauticians supply store, where she can stock up on shampoo and conditioner and stuff by the gallon, I wandered in with her. I found, much to my amazement, a huge section for fingernail files. Not your ordinary fingernail files mind you, but ones with grit up to 10,000. And they were attached to a soft, spongy backing. So I bought a few. 5,000 to 10,000 makes an excellent finishing grit for cleaning up Kershaw's bead blasted blades. Just FYI...

...Not stupid at all Trader...I've been using my wife's sponge or rubber back finger nail files for working blades over ever since I started "mangling" knives some years ago...They do work great...:thumbup::)
