very nice I love the blade I can see I have still got a lot to learn and look forward to now I have my own forge.

boy, before long they're going to write whole sentences in damascus. now about bump:

i want to see pics of the knife he made to pass the ABS master test (important for history). :)

Beutiful mosaic, exquisuite workmanship. I assume the damascus is a san-mai sandwich? Spectacular.

Whoa! Bruce! Man, that's great! You just made my day again. I'm trying to figure this out, is that handle made with overlays? It's awesome, man. And that damascus, must be san mai like Clint said? Thanks for sharing that Bruce, you make me smile.

Dave

Thanks for the compliments.

The blade is 1084 welded to the edge of the tapered mosaic billet. The billet steels are 1084 and 15n20. They were 1/8"x 1"x 6" and stacked 16 high. Welded and drawn out and cut into 4 sections and restacked in a basket weave pattern more 1084 inside to separate the basket weave (like a t shape) rewelded and squeezed from the corners back to square. The 1084 edge was forge welded at this time. Next it was drawn out to length and tapered. Finally I accordian cut the billet and opened it up and flattened and gave it the final profile.

The handle is a framed handle with brass. I learned this from You know...Bruce Evans The rounded nose part of the handle are separate bras pieces and the blade was milled so they would set in place and all is soldered. Who needs a ricasso anyway?

Thanks for looking, Bruce

I've seen and handled this knife (before Daniel from BladeGallery snatched it up at our last show) and it's awesome!

Bruce has an eye and mind for design that's unparalleled...he's coming up with stuff that's totally unique. Enough cannot be said for that.

Thanks for puting it up here :)

Nick
