Hey gang, I got a 110 Anniversary Edition and the blade had a good bit of play when opened. I gently tightened the bolsters (The pin sticks out a tad now), but there is still some looseness to the blade when I move it back and forth with my hand. Is some play to be expected? Thanks in advance for replies.

I think that you should send it to them and ask them to repair it.
Bucks warrantee service is very good and they need to know if their
product is not up to snuff.

I'm just dragging my heels because I wanted to get all my hunting gear ready and i have had bad luck with returns taking a long time with other companies.

Well I can't tell you how long the turnaround is on repairs, and I certainly understand your concern about waiting.
Try this, go to Bucks website there is an E mail address and phone # contact them and see what they say about
how long it will take to get the knife back to you.
I own probably 30 Buck lockbacks mostly 112's, the only ones that have any noticeable blade play at all are from the 70's and 80's
and they have seen lots of use.

Return it to Buck. From what I understand their turn around time is not that bad. You can call to get an estimate on how long it will take.

I think you will get more feedback on the speed and quality of Buck Customer Service if we move this to the Buck Forum....

To answer your original question; I bought three of the various 50th Anniversary Buck 110 Folding Hunters - all lock like bank vault doors. You will be happy you sent it back. OH OH

Welcome aboard takoma77! I've had my 50th for about 6 months with no play of any kind closed or open, and the smoothest action I have felt on a Buck! I agree with the others let Buck hook you up!

There are a lot worse things you can do than purchasing another 110 to keep as a back-up or future gift. You'll get a lifetime of use out of one well maintained 110. I have 5 or 6 50th 110s still in the retail packaging.

Almost forgot... like others have said you'll be happy you sent it to them, and they generally move pretty quick with the repairs but summer is the busiest if I recall.

My 110 and all but one of my 112's have at least a barely perceptible amount of side to side play when locked open but nothing to keep them from cutting like razors. Like the others I suggest sending it to them.

"East Tennessee, just a hair above the Georgia line and just a tad West of North Carolina" sounds like the South Pittsburg area. I've always liked that area makes me home sick! I've been through there many, many a time!

I've been through Pennsylvania but not Pittsburgh. I liked it pretty good up there even though everybody said i talk funny.

It took them 8 days to completely re profile and repair major abuse to my buck 119 and send it back. Included with my knife was a card with a online store discount code. I have had nothing but great experiences with buck customer services.
