Another Buffing Question??????

Does anyone stack their buffing wheels?? I have just been using one 3/4" wheel, but I noticed in some books it looks like they're using three or four inches of buffing wheel. I was just wondering if this would cut the time down or do a smoother job? Take care!! Michael
