You know what we need, another Bull Nose thread. So, I have taken the time to make one.
I just got back from the Rendezvous on Saturday and I have been enjoying my brand new Bull Nose, or Red Neck Farm Tool, as the tang would say.
So far it's just as great as the previous knives and it will get it's fair share of pocket time and use.

I've decided to list a difference between each knife.

Original Test Run:
The biggest difference with this knife is that it has a much tougher pull in comparison to the new runs, it's probably a 7, while the others slack off a bit.
The grinds have all been really great, a nice little edge that pops hair very well. The fit around the pivot pin is lacking in comparison to the next run of knives, but this was a test run and is open for criticism.

Black Bull:
This knife also have a slightly strange fit around the pivot pin. It looks as though thy used a dark glue to fill in the gapes surrounding the pin. It hasn't damaged it's functionality and I doubt it will be a problem later on.
The biggest difference is of course the scale color. The Pull on this one is about a 4.

Red Neck Farm Tool:
Inspecting the pivot pin, I see the fit is perfect. No gaps and no signs of glue used as a filler. Very nice finish for this one.
Biggest differences include the Red Neck, stamp on the pivot pin and the tang stamp. The pull on this one, is probably a 4 1/2. Which is about perfect for me when I'm wearing gloves.

Johnny I alwayz enjoy reading your posts whether it be here or on aapk,U take some good photos and give the knife a good review

Johnny, if it was anyone but you I was going to be slightly irritated :-p

My first thought, "not another one" haha.

Nice pics.

I almost didn't make a post with so many floating around, but then I figured, why not?

I have used all three and have a pretty good idea of how this pattern will do as a work folder, I figured if anyone wanted a knife user's opinion, I would share it.

Here it is at work.

Very nice photos, Johnny. I agree with Kevin... if it had been anyone but you. ;)

I know there is some disagreement about the "Redneck" trademark but from a marketing standpoint I think it was pretty clever. Bladeforums member Bobby Branton had a similar idea and has a "Red-Neck" line of custom knives. Although I was born in the South, I don't find the word particularly offensive. I'd actually like to see GEC expand the line with a delrin "Redneck" 48 trapper and 66 calf roper that costs $10 or $20 less than the Tidioute and Northfields.

See, now thats a great idea.
Even though it's not a huge price change, it adds up and certain people would feel more comfortable with spending the green for a Great Eastern made knife.

Great comparison, thanks for showing the difference. It looks like they have worked all the kinks out. My redneck is flawless and like you, I think it was creative and a good strategy.

Yeah, I really appreciate your long term review. I haven't used mine in a while. When I do its for grunt work in my shop. I could give a rat about the edge as it hangs behind my belt grinder ;). Sharp sucker.
