Hey fellas! Just had to show off a new CAK to my Ang Khola collection. Maybe someone could tell me who made this beautiful piece?

Its the third one from the left. Its horn handled and very nicely done with a thick Chakmak and well done full size karda.

Pardon the crappy cell photos please. My camera finally crapped out yesterday and is not repurposeable.

Just kidding of course. Another Bura! All you new guys thinking you will never get a Bura dont loose hope! They are still out there and you can get them at a reasonable price. His craftsmanship speaks for itself and you have to put one in your hands to really appreciate it. I do think HI has some comparable Kamis today that already hold their own and you may already know who they are but Buras skills are classic and were second to none. He wasnt the Royal Kami for nothing. This one may have had some light usage but otherwise almost new condition. Better pics soon as I can get a new camera.

Guess I could have id'd them eh?
Left to right:
Dan Bahadur Baby CAK
12" Khukri Khonvention special Bura 12" AK. Horn/bone
16.5" CAK Bura Horn
16.5" Kumar Villager CAK
18" AK Bura Horn
20" AK Lachhu-Probably the best chopper ever! Nothing can beat this blade so far if you can handle it:D
20" CAK Bhakta - Probably the best chopper ever...maybe?/?/ Cant decide yet? So very close.

A wonderful find....i guess i could have kept my Bura Ang Khola when i came home but seemed more important that young Corporal keep it where it might do him some good....maybe i'll find another some day but would not have first idea where to look....there certainly are none local except what is in my house...nobody else has ever seen such in their life....

That is gorgeous Ganga Ram David! I didnt know myself that Bura did these carvings. Hang on to that one man:thumbup: I still want to land a GRS from Bills time. Awesome blade!

Who is Bura, a knife builder that rarely builds or quit building? Or is it a specific Kukri?

Do tell ?

Bura was the/a Royal Kami to the royal household when Nepal still had such and was original Master Kami to Bir Gorkha when blessed Bill and dearest Yangdu's dad started the company....ill health forced retirement of the consumate craftsman....

You can learn much of the early history and philosophy of the outfit by immersing yourself in the frozen time capsule original site www.himalayan-imports.com and read of kamis and environs and see why we love dearest Yangdu and her family and the company....

I had a Bura Munk Chunk Cleaver, and I let it go sometime back, and have kicked myself ever since.

I almost had one. A guy listed one on the exchange a while back but never responded to inquiries. Sure would like to have one though. I have a big Vim AKB I like a lot and is a monster chopper but not a Munk Chunk? MCB's have a very thick spine from what I hear. Dont give up badasp! They are still out there!
Here is my AKB. Its 18" and chops like an AK.
