Another Calypso Sprint Question

I really like the look of the sprint brown G10 Calypso but I am worried that the blade measures over 4 inches in hand. This happened to me with my Military. Four inches in the max blade length in my state. About the Millie, the blade measures over 4 inches above the pivot toward the thumb ramp. I would like your guys opinion on this matter.

Thank you,
Squashfan

If an officer wants to press the matter, I'm sure they could figure a way to do it with just about any knife regardless of blade length.

If you want to be sure to stay under the 4" limit, you could also drop down to a slightly smaller knife like the Endura, Caly 3.5, Para 2, etc.

If I understand how you are measuring to get over 4" on the Military, you can get over 4" on the Calypso as well measuring the same way. Of course, if you are going to measure to the farthest place exposed rather than to the end of the handle, you might as well go by the overall length of the blade including the tang inside the handle, which would leave a Native pushing the limit. The legal limit is 4" here in Kansas, and I carry the Calypso and Military all the time.

Half of my brain says: "Be super cautious!" And the other half says: "If the officer is looking that closely, you have already done something wrong." I will have to think about it. Thanks for answering my question, guys.

BTW, I have an Endura and that is why I am looking at the Calypso. I want an Endura with a G10 handle and I think the Calyso will fill that roll nicely.

You need to pick what blade length works for you and your "comfort level", but I own one of the Sprint Calypso's and it is one hell of a nicely made knife. It will make a good substitute for a G-10 Endura.

It may be a bad habit but I have learned to thumb flick my two Enduras. I would like to know if can be flicked open as well.

A strong enough hand can flick open just about any knife short of a fixed blade, maybe even some of those too. I've said it before, I just don't understand the need to flick open a knife. I open them slowly and in a controlled manner. It draws much less attention. Maybe what you need is modify your style and slow it down.

They can be flicked, but I find lock backs to be a little stiff. You really have to give it a good flick which does draw attention.

I can't say much though cause I ghetto waved most of my spydie lock backs....

I was just curious if it could be flicked. I find that most people who do not like knives don't care how you open it. It is still a knife to them and a terrible thing to carry.

Yeah most LEOs are not going to look that closely unless you are doing something else to get their attention
