that is a very clean knife. Handle looks fantastic.
The choil area and plunge cut are quite unique and interesting.

I'm not sure why there is a raised clip, but it sadly does nothing for me. I assume it is a custom order, but that design feature removes quite a bit of versatility from a camp knife. Kind of turns it into a fighter, imo. But hey, different strokes for different strokes.
You did a great job in making a very fine knife, regardless of what I think of the design:thumbup:

The knife looks fantastic, I like every thing about it and to each this own I like the raised clip if for no other reason than it's differant.

Great looking knife. The sabre grind with the raised clip makes a strong and stiff blade for a camp/utility.In a pinch, the flat portion of the spine would allow batoning. Good chopper grip to the handle. Plus, as first stated, it looks great. So there,

John

Very nice piece.
Kind of neutral on the choil/plunge areas, really like the raised clip.
Nice handle design, look comfortable.
Would definitely classify it more as a fighter than camp knife.
But what's it's called probably isn't that important anyway.

If thats a camp knife your fighters must be awful scary:D

All kidding aside great looking knife

This goes to show camp knives do not have to be big ugly butter knife looking critters.

I can imagine the weight in the blade makes it a good chopper and the handle looks comfortable.

Even with the raised clip I am sure you could even batton with it . It might tear up the stricking piece of wood but who cares

Nice knife:thumbup:

Good looking piece.

I would suggest you explore a more exact symmetry around the choil. As it is, the grind above is nearly exactly symmetrical to the blade profile, but not exactly. Maybe that would look too studied, I don't know.

Thanks Everyone for the great compliments and feed back! My intentions with this grind and raised clip was to make it a foward weighted blade for chopping. As I'm sure you know the dropped handle helps with this also. Like Kevin said..."But what's it's called probably isn't that important anyway." I agree!

Thanks again!
Shawn

I am really digging your handle work. That wood is beautiful. Great work.

I could see why a lot of folks would call it a fighter with that sleek profile!

But no matter what you call it, it's freaking bad ass! Clean as a whistle too!

You're really putting out some fine work Shawn! :)
