I'd fallen in love with the original version with the straight handle from a few weeks back, and had it as my desktop background for a few days, and then started tinkering with it. Contacted Shawn a few days later, said, "Hi---I absolutely love this knife! Would you consider doing one with a downward-curved handle?" The reply I got back very quickly was, "Like this?" with a picture of a drawing he'd already done thinking along the same lines. I hate it when other people have my clever ideas before I do. ;)

Thissun is mine....and it's also my new desktop picture. :D

You did an outstanding job, Shawn!

Just when I think I'm gettin better, I see stuff like this and realize how far I have to go. That thing is very clean.

t1mpani, now there are two of us happy !!! Koa's very nice . Mine is a work knife , is yours ? I started making a kydex sheath for mine today [not a professional job]. Big pieces of kydex need an oven not a heat gun !.

nice work
could I ask where can I find those nice zippered bags to keep my knives in please

Howdy Mete,
Well, I won't know for certain until it's in my hand, but I imagine it's going to tuck in just fine...in which case, it'll absolutely be a work knife! Some of my knives get used more, some less, but I don't care if the thing cost me $2000---if I'm not willing to get it dirty I won't have it. If I just want a knife to look at, saved jpegs on my computer take up a LOT less room. ;) I'm going the leather route, I have a few others to send to Kenny Rowe so this'll just get tossed in with 'em.

Hey Thanks ALOT guys! I really appreciate the kind words. Warren, Its on its way!

This showed up yesterday and I'm floored by the design and the execution. It's a flat saber grind on a blade that's more than 1/4" thick, and yet the bevel brings it down to a very reasonable thickness behind the cutting edge, and the point'll pick splinters! The high peak out front for the swedge shifts the weight forward, and with the hand pulled all the way back on the handle it has a lot of heft in a swing, closer to most 9" and 10" bowies. Grinds are PERFECT.

Now the hard part---putting that first little blemish on it by going out and cutting stuff with it. I'll admit, with this one in hand now I'll have a hard time at the first, but I'll just keep reminding myself that even the really, really pretty ones end up being even better looking with a little patina on them.

Thanks a bunch, Shawn

Shawn this is absolutely beautiful!!!
