Hello everyone!

Yes, its me, the Canoe-holic. Not too long ago I got very nice slipjoint from custom slipjoint maker Jeff Mutz. Its really nice but I would take that as dedicated user due smooth buffalo horn scales I wanted to use are bit slippery. And with damasti steel and file work, its my sunday knife.

So I asked if he could do me a dedicated user. He had scales I wanted but he had to replace the blade. Anyway, my bit rough around edge user. Jeff did marvelous job as always. Ok, I dropped the kick bit but its just me. Jeff gave me discount for this one due problems with first knives shipping (it got lost and he made another) and the fact I am returning customer.

He is truely a wonderful person. But like they say: Enough talk for now, bring the pictures:

This is wonderful knife. Its quite hefty due steel liners and jigged bone makes it thicker than my buffalo horn Mutz. Jigging is good and really effective. Pull is 7 for half stop and to half top open its 9. No way this going to close on my finger.

The blade was changed to this one to 1095 carbon steel satin finished, long pull blade with swedge on another side only. This is beautiful plain blade. After dropping kick just a tad to way I like it. This knife could be considered nail breaker, if you couldn't open it with pincher hold but since you can open it in pincher hold... I really like jigged bone and color. Its bit hard to get just the right shade. Its pine green. I like it very much.

I just love this one. Jeff pulled really nice user for me for unbeatable price. Thank you for Ed for introducing Jeff and his products for me and Thank you Jeff for making this.

Jani,

I really like the grind on your new blade.

It looks like the blade shape would be extremely useful, the edge easy to maintain, and the swedge looks simply terrific.

Very, very nice. I love that blade shape for an all-round user.

Jani,
Thank you for showing us your knives, always with great interest I read your posts

Those are super looking knives. I really like those long nail nicks. I haven't seen a canoe pattern before with one blade/bolster. Mr Mutz might be on to something.....Pretty cool!

Very nice knives. Thanks for the pictures, I'm looking forward to have one of Mr. Mutz's canoes in my pocket.
