Just had a thought about my usual pocket full of stuff in regard to airline travel: I have heard that they are not allowing lighters in carrry-on luggage. I carry a small magnesium/flint fire starter attached to my key ring. Anyone have any problems carrying one of these on a plane?

I don't know about that, most probably wouldn't know what they were looking at. They did recently pay close attention to my ASP light on my key ring, and my 20 ft. of paracord in my backpack. ;) Lately they seem to question anything they don't recognize, so have a plausable explanantion.

Ditto on the ASP experience. Then on the return, even MORE interest in my Spy Capsule with meds in it. She even unscrewed it. What pinheads.

I took out all the metal goodies out of my kits. my mag lite was ok.

I had plenty of para cord though. I didn't get my bags searched

the funniest thing though. we have a friend down here into micro brews so he asked us to bring some back, so my wife carried on a six pack of glass bottle beer. sh** who needs a knife when I can have 6 serious weapons if need be. they are so absurd with this airline sercurity bs. all it is is publicity sercurity, makes a nice show but prevents nothing. I could have easily had an exacto knife hidden in my bag the handle w/o blade with a bunch of pens and the blade buried somewhere. they don't look for nothing but the obvious and the gadgety stuff that looks dangerous.

sorry for the rant just got back yesterday
