Pala observes from an outside point of view that the pending war with Iraq is taking its toll on US business and there is a trickle down effect. Market down, consumer confidence worst in 10 years, etc. etc. HI business is just like any other and falls heir to all the ups and downs of business in general.

"These are drastic times which require drastic measures. We have to keep the cash flow up even if sales are down or we will have to lay off some kamis and we don't want to do that. Cut the profit and keep the kamis working."

Pala observed that we have a goodly stock of Chiruwa AKs, HI's unbreakable knife (even though one was damaged a year or two back -- but the breaker got the two for one deal if that's of any importance) and wants to sell a few off at 1/2 price.

Math goes $145/2 = $72.50 -- tack on $12.50 shipping for total price of $85. This definitely falls into the UBBB category.

Call or email. (I may have to go on the wagon at this rate. Pala is depleting my Heineken fund.)
 
The end of February is always a slack time. Christmas bills are ( almost ) paid off and it's 6 weeks til income tax time.

Besides, Uncle, you usually give us new and fascinating ways to keep us broke every week. This is on top of the first paragraph above.

But then, maybe Pala's not wrong. Those Bargain Basement prices could get the lurkers to take the hook and buy their first khuk.
 
The guy who broke one and got replaced with two gave me one of the replacements. A beautiful Bura. He kept his ugly duck (kesar?) if I recall because it just kept hammering and working, working and hamering.

Just a side note if anyone's interested. It's my only Bura and arrived so well and with such goodness that you couldn't pry it off me if they were reattaching my left arm and I needed the cash for the operation, without which they couldn't promise my big toe wouldn't look like a thumb when they were through. They even threatened to leave the nail dirty with sock sweat.

After reading through endless posts on Khuks, I am really leaning toward checking out what everyone is talking about.

Any chance this sale is still going on? :)

Do you sell them in differnt sizes or are they all between 16" and 17" luck-of-the-draw?

seems a great 1st khuk opportunity for my bro's 21st birthday.

[edit] - just realised this thread is from Feb! missed the boat on the sale. :grumpy: Still interested in the answer to my question though.

That's usually the only size they come in. However, the Chiruwa style handle will show up from time to time on various models and sizes, so you never know.
