I see a lot of makers out there that always ask "what to do with old belts?" Most of the time is just throw them away cause they aren't good anymore, which is absolutely correct. Or you can use them for grip tape for your floor or try and get the last bit of life out of them by handsanding with them however, I saw a video on another maker that goes by "Trollsky" that is all the way across the pond (in Poland I believe) that made a basket out of them. Anyhow I thought that was pretty cool so I tried it myself after a couple months of collecting old belts. In the video he is using 2x72 belts which I believe would be better but I only have a 2x42 and it can also be done with that.

I used a combo of ceramic and AO belts with mainly 80G belts but a few were 36G and 120G belts. If I were to do it again I wouldn't use the 36G belts, they are too stiff but the 80G belts weave like a dream. Mine definitely didn't come out as good as his but it felt good seeing it come together and now I have a garbage can made from garbage 😁

That is cool!!! Hmmm....sanding belt Micarta...I think it would have good grip :) No, I am not going to try it! Got my hands full with figuring out the burlap and carbon fiber!

Now you need to make a shoulder bag to take your knives to the shows in. Maybe a burlap liner to prevent scratches.
