Hi guys - - I know everyone likes to mention getting their new knives, and you've heard it dozens of times before. But, I'm just excited & wanted to mention it to others who can appreciate what I'm talking about. - - I got my first CRK knife today - - a fixed blade Mountaineer II. (This is also the first CRK that I've had a chance to actually touch - I only had photos to go by.) - - This thing is absolutely fantastic ! A perfect blend of design, materials, and manufacturing excellence. (And the leather sheath that came with it is great too.) I'm looking forward to building memories using it while out in the woods hiking, camping, fishing, & hunting. - - - I've gotta feeling there's going to be plenty of CRKs in my future. - - - All the best, -

welcome and a BIG CONGRATS on your first CRK.....there awesome, it's like they become part of you. Like an extension!

post pic's we want pic's!

Thanks guys for welcoming another first timer ! - - I'll have to take pics when I go out spring turkey hunting in the middle of April. - - All the best, - -

P.S. - - yep I'm thinking real hard about a Sebenza. - - Been thinking lately, "Spend more so you save money." meaning that I know I will eventually get one, but rather than buy other knives between now & than, - maybe I outta just go ahead and get what I want in the first place.

This is a most excellent idea! You won't regret getting something that you really want. But you will regret buying other things/knives, preventing you from getting what you really want. Especially once you handle your Sebenza! :D

Save yourself the hassle and just do it!

CRKfan - - ya know - - we're both right !
Might as well start enjoying a Sebenza. :) - - There are some good knives out there and they're perfectly serviceable. Afterall, they'll cut and have good steel blades - - - but after reading some of the posts here - - - the plastic just doesn't get me very excited when I hold them in my hand. - - - I haven't even held a Sebenza, but I can imagine after getting this CRK fixed blade and reading what some of you guys are saying about your folders. Best regards, - -

These guys are right...the sebenza eclipses other folders by a wide margine IMO. I have spyderco and Emerson folders, but it is the sebbie I carry around. Mine goes through wood like a hot knife through butter.
I've started to trade off my other folders....

cjpgeyer - - yep, I've got Spyderco & Emerson knives too. I was looking at a Benchmade a few days ago. While it was well put together and perfectly fine knife, it just didn't grab me. I found myself thinking "Hmmmm - now that would be a hundred bucks that I could apply to my first Sebbie." - -

New Bloodwood in the house today..... Micartas on the way. :)

That bloodwood is pretty. I'd be tempted to get one if I wasn't so darn happy with my small micarta. It goes everywhere with me. A true friend.

Yeah, since writing the opening post - - I went ahead and got my first Sebenza - - a large micarta with double thumb lugs. - - This thing reminds me of an F-18 Hornet fighter plane - - everything completely functional and down to business :D
