Here is yet another outstanding work of art by Curt Erickson, engraved by Julie Warenski-Erickson. Unlike those shown previously, this one is not mine. I understand it is being retailed online somewhere. Man, it's another museum piece!

As I understand it, this is the last of three fighter-type knives that Curt had originally decided to produce with monumental sheaths. No others are currently contemplated. Two are owned and apparently this one is not yet in the hands of an owner.

Hope you like the image. Sorry, no link. Someone perhaps should link this attachment up and post it right - hopefully.

I was wondering when you will see this amazing piece....
Don't you think that you have a perfect spot for it in your collection?

Just $5,850 + shipping..... :)

All the best,

David - thanks so much for posting this image properly. There is actually a story behind this one, and why there were three such beauties produced rather than two. Long, long ago, I had placed an order with Curt for a fighter with stag and a dirk with mammoth ivory. The blade on the above knife is actually the blade that was being finished up for me for the dirk I ordered.

About three four or five months ago, I changed my order to add an elaborate sheath to the fighter and cancelled my dirk order, since the sheath was to be quite an added expense.

Well, Curt and Julie just kept on going, and produced sheaths for both. This is, therefore, the dirk (and sheath) that I cancelled. Then someone else got it, end of story. Now it is apparently available, and I am involved in other orders or would snap it up!

But it makes for a really good story and explains why there are three of these museum pieces out there instead of two (I own one and a friend owns the other).

Bob,

I still have that 10 page section waiting for a one theme/maker
collection.... :)

Amazing. One negative point: I think the maker's mark on the blade does not fit with the beauty of the knife. This is a knife where the makers mark should me more discrete.

Beautiful engraving!

Kind regards,

Jos

Though it's not my favorite style, the knife is a masterpiece in my opinion.
We are starting to expect nothing less from these two.

Great work.

Amazing work of art. Julie's engraving is about as good as it gets and the knife is equally nice.

Pleasure seeing it.
