I received my first custom 110 today - I placed the order 13 days ago!

Koa, BG-42, tan leather sheath

Incredible craftsmanship...I can see that where I'll be buying all my new knives from. I was concerned about the tan leather sheath after hearing some bad things, but I have to say that mine is excellent. The leather is very soft and there is no loose thread or goo.

The only thing I was disappointed about is that it didn't come in a different box than the other 110's out there. I received it in the standard black and yellow Buck box. I wish that these came with a special custom Shoppe box.

Other than that, I'm sold on the custom 110. Highly recommended!

Jeeze---they must have caught up to their back log----I had to wait almost 9 weeks.

All those customs are so nice-----I keep planning another one---everytime I see pics of a new one my plans seem to change.

I placed an order on 6-14 and got shipping notification today that my stag BG42 ns was on its way. it will fit right in with the brass stag BG42 I already have.my last order for two buffalos took 7 weeks.

I like the koa wood also.may have too order it next.

I received the shipping notification yesterday and received it today, so be on the lookout!

The only complaint about the sheath is the felt pad that's on the inside of the snap. It easily peels off, it's adhered only with a sticky, gooey adhesive.
I replaced it by gluein a dime sized piece of leather over the snap, and am very happy with the results.

SWEET! :D :D I am liken that KOA more and more! Anyone do one with Nickel bolsters? :) PICs please!

Bucka,

thanks for the pic! :D yes sir that KOA is definately on my "to buy" list now!  I take it also there can be some variation to the color of the KOA by comparing yours to Al's. Both the brass and the nickel look good.
Hmmmm, would look great with a Damascus blade I betcha!

Yep, I actually wish I'd done that. But oh well. I'm happy.

As for the color variation...the koa, at least mine, plays a lot with the light. Here is another pic of the same knife...

I don't want to steal any of Al's thunder, but my Koa,brass, &BG42 arrived today. Fit & finish are perfect. Centered blade, tight lockup, & smooth action.
I don't remember when I ordered, but it's been less than 2 weeks ago.

Yeah, I agree. Mine looks dark in the pic but I didn't use flash. It looks much different in person as you move it around in the light you can really see the "flame" in the flamewood.
