Another Date Code ?? Sorry!!

I know this is an old subject and some might say " find your answer in the archives but, I kind of like/need a quick answer.

Question, the dots on the blade tang, when did they start, do they represtnt a spicific amount of time (for each dot). I have looked in books and on the marking sipher and can't find it. Can someone that isn't totally sick of the subject, lend a helping hand. Thank you in advance.

I looked at that and it covers '74-'80 as 2 dot and it covers 4 dot but what about 3 dot ?
