my buddy juicy g and i took a day hike to catch the peak of the fall colors...the steep sections are starting to get slippery with all the leaves on the ground.

times square indeed...we probably saw over 50 hikers over the course of our lunch break here...i received a lot of questions about the emberlit, overnighting and hiking gear.

thanks! that awesome view is our advanced reward because come winter we'll be paying for it, haha.

Great pictures, JV3. The colours are nice here, as well.

Which Bark River is that? Kephart?

Doc

thanks, doc! yes, kephart 3v.

A nice hike you had! Beautiful colors in the pictures and a nice knife as well! :)

Awesome photos. Sounds like you had a great time. I like the size of that Bark River knife too, perfect for most uses. The emberlit stoves are an awesome little item as well. Are you using the standard or the TI version? I wasn't sure if the weight savings was worth the extra money for the titanium.

thanks! that kephart is starting to move into my top 5 favorite knives.

thanks! i started with the original ss version then converted to the ti version - both of those are mine. the weight savings are definitely noticeable especially if you have both versions on hand to physically compare. if the rest of your cook kit are ti already then i'd say it's worth the upgrade because they all add up otherwise no.

thanks for the brk lefty black sheath by the way - that's what that kephart stayed in :)

Great pics again JV. Always a pleasure to read your posts.

I am now officially hungry.:D

Nice pics and a beautiful place.

Considering a little stove to back up my Pocket Rocket. Pricey though. Love the BR knives. One of those is on my list.

Emberlits aren't pricey at all when you remember that you never have to buy fuel or replace parts.

thanks! the emberlit is easily one of my favorite pieces of gear - it's super efficient with fuel and even on a day hike i still get to practice fire starting and get that camp fire smoke/atmosphere.

yup! my original emberlit is still going strong and no signs of wear.
