another day hike: used busse.

the day started with rain but it cleared up pretty quickly.

...taking advantage of the sun.

got one of my friends hooked on hiking...and mora - that green one around his neck he just bought from campmor a few hours earlier without any goading from me

brand new a few days ago - no safe queens!

Just curious, what is your hatchet or axe of choice? I'm very close to purchasing the Bushman by Wetterlings. Thoughts?

the mora 510 is actually my favorite knife in that size range.

depends what i'm doing but if i can only have one axe then it's my gb scandinavian forest axe or any quality axe with a ~25" long handle/similar specs to it...what i found most useful to me though is my h&b forge shawnee tomahawk since i try to minimize chopping and splitting (except if i'm doing it for fun - usually when the camp fire is already well established) and preferring to use a saw instead whenever i can. the h&b's lightweight means it's almost always with me on trips not to mention it's just downright fun to use.

I fell in live with the basic 11. The thing is like a fencing foil in my hand. It's pretty amazing what you can do with a knife that size. It should sexy up your spam real nice.

indeed...it was a friend's basic 11 that i first got to use during a hike about 3.5 years ago that set me off on a hunt for the basic 10 le choiless.

some recent additions in that size range but the b10le is still my favorite though

sykco 1311..interestingly enough, growing up in the philippines it's this knife that has the length, thickness and tip heavy balance that really reminds me of our traditional goloks and itaks. in my country, a 1311 is a do-it-all: chopper, gardening tool and kitchen knife all in one....brings back some good memories!
