Am I correct in the assumtion that you know every craftsman that makes a knife for Himalayan Imports? I hope I am forgiven for my ignorance but I am new to this forum, And my only experience with Kukris before now was Cold Steel models. Cold Steel makes fairly good knives but there Kukris seem non traditional.

Thank you,
Randy

Your are correct sir

all of the kami's are known and leave their mark on each item made.
alot of forumites request a certain kami for this or that traight they are known for.

I like to compare so I don't differenciate.

Uncle Bill can tell you a lot more about each kami
than i could as well as Yvesa he is a fount of info.

Neither one of them can tell you the names of the Kami (s) With No Name (s), and lately, we may not even know whether there are the rumored 3, or if there is possibly a fourth. No, this isn't a wild tale or an attempt at ragging a "new guy". Work categories in this country are usually "full time", "part time", "temporary part time" and "permanent part time". Nepal has the same job openings, but simplifies the categorization (for them - don't know about us). The Kami With No Name has been three very good kamis who farm, but work at BirGorkha on a permanent (?) part time basis to supplement their incomes, and buy seed, etc. Their mark is the butter lamp, a bowl with a stylized "s" shaped flame rising from it. Their blades are good - I have three and would not hesitate to take another. All kamis at BirGorkha make blades to the standards set by the Royal Kami. Blems, when they happen, are 98% the result of temperature/humidity extremes encountered in the trip over. We know our kamis :) And they know how to make fine, fine blades.

How about a possible "no. four(?)" with the wide cho, fancy thin-line chisel work and large butter lamp  Mysterious Nepal - Ya gotta love it :D
