Check out this knife:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7232862330&sspagename=ADME:L:RTQ:US:1

I couldn't tell what it was, I thought maybe a LB2. Well to $30 buy-it-now I would have gone for it. but I sent the seller an email and asked what the tang said & where it was made. This is the response I got from the seller:
"Hi, The blade says 4150 japan on it.
Thanks for your question."

Now I am really scratching my head...
Is this the beginning of counterfeit Schrades? If so why didn't they copy the tang stamp?
Was the seller confused and looked at the wrong knife?
I have never heard of a Japan connection with Schrade.

Can anyone enlighten me in regards to this knife?

Thanks,
Dale

I saw it too and also thought it was a LB2. All I can make out on the tang in one of the photos is what looks like "Uncle Henry."

I just sent him another email and asked for a close up of the tang.

I sent you an enlarged section of the stamp. The knife in the picture says:
Uncle Henry
Schrade +
LB? USA

Now, confirm that the knife he is selling in that auction is the one pictured, not a Japanese knife.

Thanks Michael,
I just got your email but he had already sent me an email in which he said; "I'm sorry, I looked at the kershaw i have for sale. The tang stamp on the uncle henry says LB2 USA."

It is indeed a Uncle Henry LB2 USA. So.....................................I bought it.
I have been trying for a long time to get a complete set of the Uncle Henry LB series. I got out bid on a LB8 the other day.

Thanks again for your assistance.

Dale
