I am big fan of the Ka-Bar Doziers. I think they are an amazing knife for the money and now I recently bought another "economy" class knife that is great also.

The Benchmade Pika got it for $22.00 and am very impressed with it. It came with Benchmades typical 440c SCARY sharp blade and FRN handles, but it is one well put together blade.

i agree the ka-bar dozier for $18 is the best under $20 knife there is. thanks for the info on BM knife. will keep my eye on it

Why just buy effective folders that list for under 30.00? I never pay list price for my knives, I only buy mine from eBay (changing that practice however) and flea/farmers markets. I've got great deals on a Griptilian, CRKT M16, all kinds of folders and fixed blades that list well over 100.00.

First off, anyone ever here me say I only buy "effective knives under $30.00"?

And if you gave anywhere near $100.00 for a Griptilian or a CRKT M16 you might want to do a little more price comparison shopping.

I agree that one of the best cheap knives is the new mini pika. but i don't think it has near the edge that i am used to with the BM's. Another vote for a cheap knife is the gerber vector. i am not a fan of gerber knives but for $30 and under with 8A stainless it can't be that bad. i also vote for the cheaper non ATS 34 buck adrenaline.

I agree aus8 can be done good by some manufacturers, that's what the Ka-Bar Doziers use. Maybe I got lucky with my Pika, I own about 10 BM's total and it's honestly as sharp as any of my blue box knives. My only concern with the Pika is the blade has such a fine tip, that that will get broken off before long.
