JK custom knives makes a really nice kephart. He uses O1 steel and just about any scales you desire. I have a few of his knives and they are awesome. you can find him on the knifemaker forum

What price range are you looking at ? Also , what size do you call an EDC knife ? 6 inches ? 7 inches ? 8 inches ? Depends on weather you need to conceal it or not . EDC on a ranch is ALOT different than EDC in a city . But a fixed blade knife CAN be carried as an EDC in either place .
