Well today I received a box in the mail. Figure I better post up! I have been lurking here for the last couple weeks, trying to figure out what I wanted first, my HEST came in the mail today! Holy crap! What a knife! While the pics and words on this forum are great, they simply pale in comparison to actually grabbing the HEST up and seeing it first hand! I fall in the camp of "leave the bottle opener and pry-bar" :P In fact the pry-bar was actually one of the selling points for me, I have a bad habit of ruining knife points prying stuff I shouldn't! No more of that for me!! Did I mention I LOVE this knife yet?? I still gotta figure out how best to EDC it as that is what I bought it for..

Needless to say I believe I made an excellent first choice! I been all over reading about ESEE, the company, their philosophy, their products, warranty etc etc. Lovin' what I'm seeing!!

Next up, an ESEE-5! (why oh why can't they come in the Tan color?? Those blades that do are so awesome! and that goes for the HEST too!)

That's funny I also received mine in the mail today. Where did you get yours, I got mine for a pretty good price off ebay.
 
Damn, congrats on getting a sweet knife. My H.E.S.T. is supposed to be here tomorrow, and I am absolutely going nuts waiting for it. And I got one hell of a deal of it, so I have enough cash left over for an Izula, which will be ordered next week. Oh, and the teaser here is that no one on this site has ever posted one like the one I will be getting. I promise pics, but it will take 4 weeks or so to get it once I place my special order.
 
is that a diamondback?

I'm so wanting a HEST problem is I just bought 5 knives in the last 10 days and my wife may end up slicing me in my sleep if I buy another.. but I just may............ very tempting

I also just bought another izula.. how is this different..?? flying eagle?or
 
gdeno, did yours off ebay happen to come with a "CarBee-Sharp" pocket sharpener?? :D Mine did, and yea pretty good price indeed! ;)

Thanks for the welcomes and congrats! Still not sure on EDC yet. I thought I would be able to belt carry it in the horizontal position but I can't find a place on my belt where the handle doesn't stick out too far. Gonna have to work on it..
 
Congrats my first ESEE knife. I carry mine iwb at 130 3 and 430 works great with normal sheath and parachute cord.

Shok, nice catch! hah I didn't even notice he said Diamondback, I saw diamond and since the blackened versions of the Kahr's are commonly referred to as "black diamonds" I read right over it haha.

Honestly I hadn't even heard of the Diamondback arms yet, thanks for the link! Interesting mini-glock they got there!

Congrats on the HEST. My first ESEE was a Junglas and now I'm waiting on a 5 that should be in any day. Another :thumbup: for the PM9. It's hard to imagine a better EDC.

BigDKC yes it did must be the same guy. Great deal. Sharpener slightly confusing but I'll get it eventually.
