Happy Holidays to Joseph, his family and all of our Friends at the Forum! The June 2002 issue of Knives Illustrated had Wesley Snipes on the cover and a story on Bill Bagwell inside. This featured some of Bill's bowies and was written by Jean-Luc Silbeireis a Collector that Bill and I first met at our table at the 1992 Blade Show in Atlanta, Ga.( JLS at one point had 42 Bagwell bowies, daggers and hunters in his collection!) Some of the knives pictured in the article were sent by me and one of them is in the following pics. A carbon steel Hell's Belle with 12 1/2" blade and cocobolo coffin handle, which I had bought as a pair from Bill at the 2000 Soldier of Fortune Convention, Las Vegas, Nv. The feeling of balance is quite good; back cuts and thrusting movements are both rapid and effortless as a result of Bill's design strategy. I wear the pair as examples of the basic Belle ( although a trifle long for concealed belt carry) at gun/knife themed venues in a concealex upside down rig with adjustable web straps. It works out well under a roomy coat and I have surprised a few people who thought a 13 " blade could not be carried discreetly. Again, this I do with the permission of the event staff/Police on duty. Cheers to JP for kindly posting these threads and everyone for responding! Sincerely, Bob Furusho
