Another Finals Week Is Upon Me

So it's that time again. Finals week has arrived, and I have tests to be taking. Five classes this semester, and four finals left. I took one online and got a good score on it, but the rest of my finals are scheduled. One of them has two possible days, two of them are tomorrow afternoon and evening, and I have a 10-15 page analysis paper due by 1700 on Wednesday. I am tempted to study all out for the three and leave the paper for Wednesday and just crank it out, but the professor has repeatedly stressed the importance of having a chance to sleep on it and come back to it. He also wants it to be our best possible work, and I'd like to live up to that.

Oh and on top of all that, it started snowing in the night, and the snow is still going strong now. Thankfully it hasn't had a chance to melt and refreeze, so no ice on the sidewalks, yet.

So here's hoping for a good finals week, and then a lot of time to decompress on vacation.

Good luck with your finals Scara! I still have nightmares about school lol. I still to this day dream that I am late for turning in a paper... I also have dreams where I cant find my classroom or remember my schedule hahahah. I have been out of school for 20 years now, but the memories are still fresh in my mind. Enjoy yourself on your vacation!
 
Scara always remember, losers never cheat or cheaters always win, no that's not it. Cheaters are always winners??

Never mind, I can't remember how it goes.

I made it through High School, that was enough for me, I went right into the school of hard knocks, it's an ongoing education with no diploma, but thankfully no professors and the world is my classroom.
 
I get those dreams too... I dream it's the day of the finals and I stopped going to class halfway through the semester.
 
Yeah, most of my dreams of that sort have me back in middle school for some reason.

Off to take another final. Then there's a review session for another. Then paper writing.
 
I'm so glad to be done with GE classes. No test, no studying, just the work for my major!

My last submission is a semester long project that's also going into an international competition. No pressure there!
 
I guess it's a common occurrence. Thity-five years after graduating college I still have that very same nightmare every so often. Time to take the final and I never went to class.
 
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who has this same nightmare. In mine I either can't remember where the class was to take the final, forgot to turn in a paper, or forgot I was even enrolled in the class until after finals are over and got a zero grade that destroys my gpa! I usually wake up thinking "whatever, they must not have caught it cuz they still gave me the degree!"

I have had this happen several times a year since graduation from college 17 years ago.

Scara, it sucks when you are in the middle of it, but the satisfaction of getting it done and doing your best is a super cool feeling. Just push on through... I still feel really proud of getting it done in grad school, but I don't miss the grind, that is for sure.
 
Good Luck Scara! I'm sure you'll do perfectly fine.

I don't miss those days, but, it is all worth it in the end.
 
I've gotten As on two of the five so far, but they were the ones that didn't worry me. Stats has me the most worried, and that one is tomorrow evening.

I get those too, but for highschool and Jr high. Forget schedule for first day and office can't find a copy, going through classrooms trying to find the right one (they have two doors instead of one).

Also have ones where I can't find my locker or forgot the combo.
 
Arrrggg! Poor guy! Someday you will look back on it and wonder how the heck you even got through school. I miss the chicks, the parties, and the cheap beer mostly but the rest...Im glad that parts over:D

Good luck on the stats! Egads I hated statistics? Chinese is easier to learn.

Good luck on your exams. I have the same problem but from the other side of the desk. I have finals and assignments to mark. Some students give some pretty "interesting" answers...
 
Well I just got a piece of good news. The deadline on the paper I have to write has been pushed back dramatically, alleviating a lot of pressure on me. Now I just have two finals to study for today, but I don't have to worry about a large paper being due tomorrow.
 
I'm with Bawanna, did a semester at school and that was enough for me. I prefer to learn by doing and keep myself busy, but if you can sit through classes and learn from that, then more power to ya! Maybe I'll go back some day, I've got plenty of time, but at the moment it doesn't look like that will happen.

Netguy, just be sure those "interesting" answers aren't technically correct! These days, the education system tries to stop creativity. A student who answers the question "where was the Declaration of Independence signed?" with "at the bottom," is 100% correct. Teacher shoulda been more specific :)

Anyways, good luck Scara! What's your major by the way?

I'm one of those geography guys, but I went and got some good technical skills while I was at it. I took two courses in Remote Sensing, which pretty much were image processing and analysis classes, but were very handy. I don't intend to be a teacher, since I've done technical courses, though I am not certain exactly what I will do.

That sounds like lawyer talk to me. Mass murderer getting off cause an officer forgot to put a period at the end of a sentence in his report type of thing.

I remember being in school. Actually, it was my senior year of college when I discovered HI, so I'll always kind of associate this place with school:)
