Had a lot of fun with this project. Usually I do a little rough shaping before glue-up. This time, though, I had to finish each of the parts first before assembling and glue-up was dead-last.

I know this is old-hat for some folks here...but for me, it was a fun challenge (that hopefully won't take as long next time). Took me 2 hours to get the pins right... ....which are stainless pins that were chamfered, heat-colored and carefully pressed and JB-welded into countersunk holes. whew! :(

Anyway...just thought I'd share my grief and my joy. :D

It's walrus ivory, Michael - has a "split" it in, but it was a piece the customer sent me and he didn't care...so, therefore, neither did I. :D

Thanks for the kind words, guys.

I have a new appreciation for knifemaking. I actually really enjoyed making the handle this way. I thought it would be nerve-racking...and truthfully, I did throw away more than a handful of unsuitable parts (screw-ups)...but when I got it done the right way, sure felt good.

That's one fine looking knife you made there Daniel :D . Great job.

That's a fine knife, Danno. I usually wait til dead-last for glue-up also. I hardly ever finish anything after glue-up other than a quick rub or a burnish or a wipe. That knife is nice, though! Sweet! :D

Dan dang you took the easy way out ,
try doing that file work after the glue up :D

nice job :D

Looks awesome Dan. Makes you feel good when a plan comes together. :D
