Another First New Knife Thread

Hi everyone, this is my new knife odyssey. After thoroughly sifting through impressions/reviews on this site, YT, and others I decided upon a Spyderco Paramilitary 2. Thanks to all that contribute to this site, it's really a priceless resource. OK, so far so good, I've made up mind, the real hard part was finding one. I wanted a new one, not used and not from E-bay, but from a well reputed vendor. I searched high and low that night (Thanksgiving), no luck. After many fruitless hours(no kidding) of searching every link that Google dug up with no results I tried Amazon and lo and behold 2 PM2's showed up. One black like I preferred and one digi camo. Hmmm, my eyes must be deceiving me. *Refresh* Yep, still there. I placed my order for the black one and got an email confirm right away. I went back to Amazon to review my order and clicked on the product detail link. It took me to a Spyderco Paramilitary, along with a higher price. Crap. My email confirmation stated I ordered a PM2, not a PM. Searching Amazon again led to the same results, a PM and not a PM2. This led to a severe case of FUD on my part all weekend. Today my shipment from Amazon arrived, opened it up and the first thing I looked for was the label with the bar code. It read C81GP2. Score! Since I'm on a roll tomorrow I'm buying powerball tickets.

Congrats! Went thru much the same process recently! Amazon lists their PM2s a just PMs, but the pics are definitely of a PM2! I ordered a satin/black (to go with the DLC/digicam I already have) the day before Thanksgiving and when I added it to my Cart it did say PM2! And that's indeed what arrived the after Thanksgiving (thank you Prime!).

Then just this morning I was on amazon again and just for kicks I searched for "paramilitary" and sure enough they were still there only this time there was a satin/digicam listed as well...so I figured, what the heck, I might as well grab one for my eldest son (who is in Army bootcamp as I type this) for Christmas. And, while I was at it I grabbed one (satin/digicam) for his dad too! ;-D

It will be a Merry Christmas for both of us! Though now that I personally have 3 of the 4 standard versions I feel COMPELLED to hunt down a DLC/black to complete the set (& don't even get me started talking about Sprint Runs! LOL!!)

I do love the Spyderco Para Military2!!!
