Okay I know you guys are getting sick of hearing and reading about which folder do you recommend thread, but i have narrowed it down to some choices. I would like to use it for EDC and also going from home to the Jail I work at or even in the woods( camping, hiking, Etc...). I would like to see which of the ones I picked would you go with. I really don't have any experience with any of these so I would like to get some feedback.
Any other suggestions welcome also. I already have a OHT and a 110. I would like something different if you get my point. LOL

Cara cara
spyderco tenacious
RAT model 1
Benchmade Griptillian (I found plenty of info on this one)
Cold steel Voyager

Thanks all.

I personally don't care for the Spyderco Byrd line of knives...but it's more of just aesthetics than performance; the price is great, but I don't have the taste.

Cold Steel is a decent folder, but I would look at the Ontario Rat folder and I like the look of the Spydeco Tenacious. You already have plenty of feedback on the Griptilian series and those I can highly recommend; and I would prefer the axis lock to a liner lock. Not much info I can provide, but do let us know what your decision is...

I'd pick the Benchmade first, then the Byrd. The Griptillian and Tenacious are both "best buy" kind of knives, for sure.

I'd say the Spydie Tenacious all the way. For if a cutter is what you're wanting, the full flat grind of the Tenacious will outcut the rest, I'd just wager. That said, those are all good choices. I have a Cold Steel Gunsite II that has served me well over the years—pretty much a slightly fancier Voyager. I bought my bro-in-law a Cara Cara and he loves it, and I have a friend that swears by his Griptilian. The only one I don't know much about is the RAT.

All told, however, I'd go with the Tenacious.

I'm a Spyderco guy much more than a BM guy, but the Tenacious is one of my least favorite Spydies. Of the knives you listed, I'd say the Griptilian is your best bet. Top quality knife and a great design. and a second on INFI Kid's recommend on the Ritter.

This is how my logic (such as it is :D) would work on this particular list. The Voyager is just to long for me to carry comfortably. I personally don't like the quality of the "made-in-China" Spyderco models, which bumps both of these. I would prefer the Axis lock over a liner. That leaves the Benchmade.

* Caution: don't read further if you don't want more suggestions:

Not to muddy the waters, but since you mentioned Spyderco, which I love, you might take a look at the Native. I EDC one for work in law enforcement as well. I liked it so much I got two so I would not be without it. Great little knife, great steel, light, US model, and easily purchased at many Wal-Marts. I would have no problem taking it into the woods, though it would not be my first choice for a long trip without a fixed of some sort.
