I can't express just how well things have been going for me lately. I am finally working for a department that I really like, I have a healthy new baby boy, and I am finally getting my head above water. I want to share my happiness...

I started making knives (trying to anyway) about 1 1/2 years ago. I am still learning everyday. I don't feel comfortable enough to start charging for my work, but hopefully that day will come soon.

I made a small fixed blade about a year ago. The knife was inspired by the Anso Pocket Scalpel and some other great neck knives that I have seen. The knife is really rough looking. By rough I mean that I wanted to try making a knife without using any power tools. I was going to sand it smooth, but the rough, pitted, look kinda grew on me. Remember, this is a totally amateur piece.

The overall length is about 5 1/4", and the handle is cord wrapped in OD green paracord. The steel is 01 heat treated by myself. I thought this would make a great neck knife, or a horizontal carry hideaway knife. I have a crappy leather sheath that I made just to try it out, but it really needs a nice leather or kydex sheath.

The last giveaway knife went to a new member (registered less than 6 months). I want this knife to go to someone who has been here awhile (registered longer than 6 months). Here is the catch... You can't have the knife for yourself. You must nominate a fellow forum member that you think deserves it.

I will ship it to the first member's name that is posted. Use the honor system...member longer than 6 months; someone who deserves it.

I don't know who deserves it, but I know he or she is gonna apprecite the work you put into it. You have been real generous and if I wasn't underage, I would buy you a few rounds of beer. :)

Roadrunner, if you are reading this I need your info so I cand send your new knife to you.

Walking man, thank you for the nomination. I don't have a way to post a pic. Maybe its new owner can when it arrives.

GarageBoy, thank you for the kind words. This forum has been one of my main stress relievers for the past year. I can come here and log on and I instantly feel better (yes, even when I read Vampire Gerbil's posts!) It's just my way of giving back

Thanks Sharpstick, Roadrunner, know that you're knife is well deserved. I hope you like it.

Wow! I'm floored here guys, just in shock. sharpstick, you're the man. All of these giveaways, that's a very classy thing to do, I really appreciate it. Walking Man, thankyouthankyouthankyou! I'm trying to think of anything special I've done to deserve this, and right now I'm drawing a blank, but I won't argue. All I can say once again to both of you is thanks a million, you just made my day! :)

Going to a good guy, congrats Kurt

Mighty nice of ya, Sharpie!!

I think I'm not alone in saying that you've been quite reasonable when there were some heated arguments. And calling Critize a sicko when he said he'd like to main cats went quite a way in my book also.
(I own 2)
I also would like to point out that you've done a lot to help out newbies, including myself. (okay, a newbie to the H.I. forum)
I think you deserve to be in the book of honorable forumites.
And don't forget to post a pic when it shows up on your doorstep.
Good Luck and Health to you.
