Here comes the "Bon vent", by french custom knifemaker Alain Descy. The blade steel is D2 ; the handle is made of one folded sheet of sandvik steel ; it's somehow designed like the old traditional french "douk douk". Both, blade and handle, are bead blasted. The lock is a patented sort of axis on the top of the handle. Very thin, very strong. Initially made for sailors, now for the tactical gentleman... :)

and here we have the typical french clip again, to wear the knife very low in pocket (can be compared to the David Lespect framelock clip, but Thierry Savidan, Sacha Thiel and others do the same).

that is pretty cool and looks like it would sit in a pocket quite nice

you cannot imagine how right you are by saying this !!! ;) In fact this knife is so cleverly done, that I still can't believe it even when I hold it in my hand !

Wow thats an awesome folder! I love the design and it must carry extremely well!

How much does one of those beauties run you?

Thanks for sharing:D

I like the thin design, blade shape, and low ride clip. IMHO, it would benefit from anodizing and a bit of color, but that's about it.

hi, the handle, including the clip, is 4, 29 inches long. The blade is 3, 07 inches long. It's not a big folder, but as you can see the edge of the blade starts directly at the end of the handle, so every little bit counts and no place is lost.

here is a pic from the traditional douk douk slipjoint. it looks quite antique, but it's new ! It's also made of one sheet of steel, but covered with nickel and chrome. The blade is carbon steel (XC 75, very popular among french knifemakers, like Fred Perrin, for example)

Don't suppose you got a link so we can click to this folder? How much is this? I'm interested to find out more...

you are right, it's not easy to find this knife, even in France ! Unfortunately, the knifemaker, Alain Descy (he french D 2 wizard, like Bob Dozier is the american one !) has no web site (!)
I bought mine last year in the Paris knife show. I'll try to give more information, when he has a new batch of this model. The problem is that the knife-stores then try to grab at them as soon as they can ! :D
