Another full flat ground TGLB thread

I haven´t seen one of these in a while so I wanted to make a new thread displaying my wishes for what would be my favorite knife. I love my TGLB. Its my favorite knife that I own. The handle fits my hand so well I can hold it just for the pleasure of it. But I´ve never truly liked the blade. I dont like hollow grinds for large knives since it just doesn´t suit my needs. I know getting one of the saber ground versions would be better for me but thats not exactly what I want either. What I truly want is a full flat ground one. 1/4 inch thick at the spine and ground flat all the way to the edge for some sweet cutting action. Sure it wouldn´t be as robust and using it as a prybar might be less good of an idea. But I wont do that anyway. I cut with my blades.

I´m sure many others would love to see this as well and I´d love to hear from you. Maybe if we speak up about it Busse will go ahead and make a version like this.

Sounds great...but a Basic 8 is pretty much what you seem to be describing. Except for the Res-C of course.

Very true man! Me too. Feels indestructible. I however love the TG14 design. No fuller, thick convex grind, and extra heavy....helps with follow through and penetration into zombie skulls ya know.

Why go 1/4 thick?... Do an anorexic version in 3/16 with the flat saber grind and the fuller. It would weigh very little

That is another option that I would also love to see. Basically a flat grind either full or partial that will have a narrower angle than what we see on the current versions. Something that will cut really really well.

Cut the blade off a SARGE-7 and superglue it onto the handle of a TGLB. Problem solved.

I read the current TGLBs are around 0.060" (1.5 mm) behind the edge; Is that accurate? Are some of the BMs thinner?

If only life could be so simple.

Interesting you should mention that as this is another issue I have with my TGLB. I dont have any calipers at hand so I cant say for sure but I can say that it is definitely very thick above the edge. It does well for splitting stuff but like I said my biggest problem with this knife is its function for ordinary cutting.

Either full flat 1/4 or saber 3/16 ground thinner above the edge would be an amazing upgrade for me.

Edit: I feel like I come across as overly hateful of the TGLB now which is not my intention at all. I love the TGLB and like I said its my favorite knife. But even though I love the model I have I would still love a model like I described above. A variation on my favorite platform one could say.

Yes, some of the larger Busses are ground a little more robust at the edge then some folk might prefer. Even the RatManDu has this issue.

It's funny how many love the TG14 design, while to me it is the ugliest of the whole series. The wide ricasso and the wide flat above the primary grind just looks tacky to my eye. But a version with full height flat grind would be quite the looker and still plenty strong.

Lets not go overboard here Resin Guy, Ugliest ? My TG14 With Tigerhide is the Sexiest Blade ever Made lol

Plenty strong for my uses at least. I think the only reason you would ever need something stronger is for truly brutal batoning and prying. A 3/16 Becker BK7 can easily baton and bend scarily far without breaking so a chunk of INFI should stand up to more.
