I have given my uncle a few knives , but today I gave him the 2010 309 companion I wasn't using, and it's the first time a knife I gave him instantly replaced whatever was already in his pocket.
I'm glad this knife will get the appreciation it deserves.

Oh and my cousin was still carrying the Ebony 110 I bought him for his high school graduation last summer, and boy does that sheath have tons of character already.
The knife looks well loved as well, and I was happy to see he's keeping it razor sharp too.
The Buck knives I gift tend to be kept sharp because it's so easy to do so and the edge holding is very respectable.

I'm honestly not sure I'm going to even consider another brand again when it's time to gift a knife, Buck has just always been a real winning proposition.
They're always appreciated.

I think I have gifted about 13 Buck knives at this point, every single one is in use today as far as I know.

very decent of ya all the gifts to family and friends of quality knives.

nice to hear stories where people still do nice things for each other and they appreciate it. shows the world hasn't gotten all bad.

I give away Bucks as a first choice too. mainly due to quality and consistency and good price points and i wont lie made in America is huge for me too. I like the idea of helping to support good paying American jobs and the folks who do that hard work everyday.

Same here, Made In USA means a lot to me and I go that route for any knife tool or boot purchase if the option is there ( you can't argue with some traditional European stuff though)
I gifted my uncle the Buck 309, a new pair of #440 channellocks, and a new pair of Wilde striking cap handle pry bars.
All from reliable long standing American companies who put out good products at reasonable prices.

They were thank you gifts for having helped me over the phone talking me through a small plumbing job I had to undertake recently.
He's busy with his plumbing business and I had to call / text him repeatedly because I just don't have a great understanding of the plumbing arts.

It was the least I could do in return for being patient with me and talking me through doing the job right.

The 309 is (was?) A fantastic little pocket slipjoint! Nice gift!
Yes, sadly they're not on the roster right now.
I can't imagine it not returning when they get the slipjoint production back up and running.
The 305 too hopefully, I'd love to gift out my favorite little Buck model.
