Don was a good man. He worked as a Sheriff's Deputy here for years, and had recently been working at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in a training capacity. Apparently his wife was having an argument with her adult son, so she called Don and asked him to come home. When he arrived the son shot him in the head and chest. He didn't die immediately, but passed this afternoon. He was a good man who always had a kind word, and a little extra time, for anyone who needed it. Prayers for his family are appreciated.

My condolences to you and the family and I hope they give the son the chair. Prayers being sent as I type.

GOD, WHAT A HORRIBLE SCENARIO.........You have my sympathy and prayers for you and his family...It's terrible to lose a friend like that so suddenly.
God Bless.

My condolences to the family!! I hope the kid gets EXACTLY what he deserves!!! Prayers will be sent!!

...That is possibly the most messed-up thing I've heard all week. AND I work in a prison, fer Chrissakes!!

I mean, what do you do? Your son points a gun at you in earnest...do you drop him? Could you? I don't know that I could.

It just boggles the mind, trying to imagine what convergence of events could possibly draw that conclusion. Obviously, something, somewhere, went horribly, horribly awry, but what? Where can you possibly look for answers in that situation?

I am just flabbergasted by this.
