It has a 10" mirror polished forged 52100 blade that smoothly tapers from 1/4" at the guard to zero at the tip.
The handle is turned blach horn and the pommel and bolster are polished mild steel.
The sheath that acompanies it is an all leather traditional patterned model.

This knife is incredibly light for its size and very well balanced like any Gaucha should be, and it s simple, functionaland ellegant construction showcases this young maker's skills.
Let me know what you guys think about it.

Some questions:
Ivan are you dealing these? If that is a mirror finish why does it look so black ? Is that a stick tang with a screw on butt? Where can I see More?

Hello, Boriqua

Regardig your technical questions, the handle assembly is exactly like you described.
The balde turned out that dark because those are nit pictures. theay are only scans taken quickly before the knife fllowed to its owner.
For the other information, I'll be e-mailing it to you.
The sooner you get one like this, the sooner you will want another!

I like it. BTW, saw the article in Knives Illustrated about the get together of the Brazilian makers organized by Ivan. Some good looking BIG blades by some very young bladesmiths. Look forward to seeing more from these folks!

Hello, Sing

Here is what the guy who got this knife had to say about it, and I think that he descrbed it very well.

"...You must know what just arrived at my front door 5 minutes ago...you are so right , this is a real knife ! In any languge , any country , any style...the strength and inner 'soul' shines through..."

Regarding the article in KI, we have had a lot of fun at that show. This year's SPKS will be held in September and is three times larger. And everybody is invited, of course!
